I believe you have been to the site and met with Jim Conrardy from 2H Mechanical concerning some of the existing plumbing piping that is currently in the building that is to be connected to in the new project. The project was initially designed and installed for the future addition of the central restroom group as currently shown on the drawings. The issues to date that have been brought to my attention are: 1. There is an existing 3" waste line between grid line "c" and grid "D-5" (about 16') that is relatively flat. This line only carries two new classroom sinks and one emergency eye wash unit. After grid "D-5" the line appears to slope at 1/4"/ft. I am of the opinion that the existing line will flow adequately given the limited amount of use it will see in this section. 2. The venting for the central restroom group will connect to the existing vent piping. There is a 3" and two, 2" vents currently in this group. The VTR is a 4" on the roof directly above this basement area. According to Table 906.1 of the IPC, these existing vents will allow proper venting of the restroom group. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. Regards, Shawn Brill Bighorn Consulting Engineers 569 South Westgate, Suite 1 Grand Junction, CO 81505 970-241-8709 1
