RE: Planned Unit Development Amendment for Aspen Glen PUD
Dear Larry,
This office is in receipt of the application to amend the text of the Aspen Glen PUD to
address the phasing schedule. Upon review of the points in your letter supported by
materials in the application, this office has deemed the application to be technically
complete. Please understand that a determination of technical completeness by this office
shall not be deemed a recommendation of approval, finding of adequacy of the application,
or a finding of general compliance with any goal or objective of the Garfield County
Subdivision or Zoning Regulations. (Also note, this application shall be processed under
the provisions of the Subdivision Regulations of 1984, as amended and the Zoning
Resolution of 1978, as amended which are together known as the "Old Code" which was in
effect prior to January 1, 2009.)
The application will be reviewed by Staff, a staff report will be generated and sent to you,
and the Planning Commission will discuss and review the application at a public meeting
which has been scheduled for the February 11, 2009 Planning Commission meeting which
begins at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be held in the Commissioners' Meeting Room in the
Garfield County Plaza Building, 108 81h St., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.

This public hearing requires publication of all notices and the Applicant shall present proof
of publication at or before the hearing. Notice for the meeting shall be given as follows:
1. Notice by publication, including the name of the applicant, description of the subject
lot, a description of the proposed amendment and nature of the meeting, and the
date, time and place for the hearing shall be given once in a newspaper of general

circulation in that portion of the County in which the subject property is located at
least thirty (30) but not more than sixty (60) days prior to the date such hearing, and
proof of publication shall be presented at hearing by the applicant. (Note that you
will need to publish in the Rifle Citizen Telegram).
I have enclosed the appropriate notice with this letter for the Board of County
Commissioners' hearing as mentioned above for your convenience. Please note, Staff has
provided this to you as a courtesy. The Applicant must verify that all information provided in
this document is correct. It shall be the obligation of the Applicant to correct any
deficiencies such that proper notice in form and substance can be established.
[Note: Please submit 16 copies of the completed application to this office no later than
January 26, 2009. If the copies have not been submitted by this date, your public hearing
may be jeopardized.]

PUBLIC NOTICE
TAKE NOTICE that Aspen Glen Golf Company has applied to the Board of County
Commissioners, Garfield County, State of Colorado, to request a text amendment to the
Aspen Glen Planned Unit Development (PUD), pursuant to Section 4:00 and Section 10.04
of the Garfield County Zoning Resolution of 1978, as amended, in connection with the
following described property situated in the County of Garfield, State of Colorado; to -wit:
Legal Description: (See Exhibit A attached)
The text amendment to the PUD would effectively allow an amendment to the
approved phasing schedule contained in Resolution 92 -056 to extend the time to
develop the only undeveloped phase within Aspen Glen PUD.
All persons affected by the proposed text amendment are invited to appear and state their
views, protests or support. If you can not appear personally at such hearing, then you are
urged to state your views by letter, as the Board of County Commissioners will give
consideration to the comments of surrounding property owners, and others affected, in
deciding whether to grant or deny the request for the proposed amendment. The
application may be reviewed at the office of the Planning Department located at 108 8th
Street, Suite 401, 108 8`h Street, Glenwood Springs, Colorado between the hours of 8:30
a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A public hearing on the amendment has been scheduled for the 2nd day of March,
2009, at 1 :15 P.M. in the County Commissioners Chambers, Room 100, 108 8th Street,
Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
