Correspondence - Code Enforcement 08.16.2013
Gale Carmoney From: Gale Carmoney Sent: Friday, August 16, 2013 1:55 PM To: tmaggiedonovan ©yahoo.com Cc: Roland Parker; Andy Schwaller; Gale Carmoney Subject: sign permit for Johnny McGuires Terrance While reviewing your sign application I have found a couple of items that need to be resolved. First, the size of the sign exceeds the limit for the CL, Commercial Limited zoning district. The maximum sign area is 60 sq ft, your application says it will be 90 sq ft (there are no sign dimensions on the superimposed sign). Second, there is no indication how the sign will be mounted on the building. Will it be mounted directly to the face of the building or will it extend beyond the roof slope? How will it be supported for wind loads? Keep in mind that the sign cannot extend beyond the peak of the existing roof line. Third, the application does not indicate that the sign is illuminated so I assume there will be no external lighting as well as no internal illumination. Just wanted to be sure and cover this subject. Please address these questions with a more detailed drawing indicating sign dimensions, method of mounting to the building (capable of handling any wind loads if extending beyond roof line, this will require engineer's seal if extending above roof line) and verify no lighting will be used.
