THIS SECTION INCLUDES: • This information is from the Technical Completion Process Greg Lewicki And Associates, PLLC 11541 Warrington Court Phone: (303) 346 -5196 Parker, CO USA 80138 E -Mail: info@lewicki.biz June 27, 2012 '5 system 'at Blue Pit Molly Orkild - Larson Garfield County Senior Planner 108 8th Street, Suite 401 Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Molly: Fax (303 )-346 -6934 The current ISDS system at the Blue Pit is designed for 5 full time personnel. This includes the 4 employees in the shop and the one scalehouse person. No other full time employees will work at the surface level. This ISDS is located near the current shop building at original ground level. It is functioning properly. The other employees will be working at the crusher /screen plant or other plants located at the bottom of the pit, as well as truck operators, who are not stationary. The bottom of the pit is from 60 to 90 feet below the original surface. The pit level will stay a few feet above the natural ground water level. The workers at the plants must use porta - potties since the ISDS cannot be installed at the bottom of the pit, since it is extremely close to the water table. Nan ISDS were to be installed at the bottom of the pit and a large rain event occurred, water could temporarily built up in the pit, which would result in contaminated water entering the water table through the porous gravel which continues deeper than the mining level. This cannot be allowed. The porta- potties are the best solution for this situation and they have been used for years by the personnel working in the pit with no problems. They will be serviced on a weekly basis from the local contractor, who is Mountain Roll Offs Inc. Sincerely, Greg Lewicki, P.E. Greg Lewicki and Associates
