Can you pass this by the landowners to see if they have any objection to these mixes?

Subject: Laramie Reppo and Knox Pipeline Recommended Seed Mixes
Jake,
I spoke with our seed supplier and the biologist we used to do the ACOE permit for the Laramie Reppo and Knox
Pipelines and this is what I have come up with for the recommended seed mixes:
Laramie Knox Pipeline (Airstrip) - Buffalo Grass.
Buffalo grass is a native turf grass that grows 3 to 12 inches tall. It is drought resistant, can be mowed, and does not
clumps. We will need to know if the landowner will be ok with us drill seeding or if we will need to broadcast
drag.
Laramie Reppo Pipeline (Ag Field) - FSG 329 Alfalfa and orchard grass.
This mix is recommended for the De Beque area for irrigated ground that will be hayed. If it is not going to be
irrigated, the FSG 329 Alfalfa would be substituted with Ladak Alfalfa (dryland alfalfa). The orchard grass could also
be removed if the landowner preferred a straight alfalfa stand. We should probably consider full ROW mulch on this
section of ROW to help protect the alfalfa when it is young.
Laramie Reppo Pipeline (PJ Woodland) - Bottlebrush squirreltail, bluebunch wheatgrass, slender wheatgrass,
western wheatgrass, indian ricegrass, sandberg bluegrass.
This mix is based on the BLM recommended mix for PJ woodland with emphasis on varieties that we have
experienced success in the past. These varieties are known to be effective in stabilizing disturbed areas and
minimizing erosion. If a quick cover is desired by the landowner 1 would recommend adding 10% quickguard and/or
regreen (sterile grass/grain hybrids). However, these sterile hybrids may not be desired if the ROW will be grazed.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more information.
Thank you,
Mark
