Other Information:Oxy will install a geosynthetic clay liner as the base layer for the pond, followed by one 60-mil HDPE liner, a geocomposite
base liner to allow for fluid movement between the HDPE liners to aid in fluid detection, two gravel sump and site pipe leak
detection systems, and finally a second 60-mil HDPE liner, see Pond 10 Liner Configuration diagram. As discussed during
meetings with Alex Fischer, Oxy is in the process of preparing a Form 28 Centralized E&P Waste Management Facility
application for Pond 10.

2WildlifeThe pond will have an eight foot tall chainlink perimeter fence to prevent wildlife and
un-authorized personnel from entering the pond. Additionally, Oxy will install a mesh
fence to extend one foot below grade and two feet above grade to prevent small
animals from entering the pond.

Control
The location will be monitored and managed for storm water/erosion control as part of
Oxy's stormwater management plan.
4Material Handling and Spill
Prevention
The Facility will receive produced water treated on the well pad location by initial
separation by 2- and 3-phase separators, and by gravity separation and skimming
inside storage tanks prior to transfer and receipt by Pond 10. Hydrocarbons on the
fluid surface of the Facility will be removed and recovered within 24 hours of discovery.
Recovered oil will be stored in oil tanks which will go to market for sale, while solids
separated from the produced water will be disposed of in accordance with applicable
COGCC regulations.
5Material Handling and Spill
Prevention
Oxy estimates the total throughput for 2014 to be approximately 250,000 barrels of
produced water over a five-day period to support completions operations. Aside from
the planned 5-day completions support operation, Pond 10 will operate with de minimis
amounts of produced water storage for reuse and rely on disposal as normal
operations for the remainder of 2014. Oxy extrapolated the average daily inflow from
the 250,000 bbl of produced water required for drilling and completions activities to
determine the average daily inflow of 278 bbls/day. The daily inflow of 278 bbls is not
representative of the daily volume of produced water inflow which will be transferred
during the planned 5-day drilling and completions activities, due to the volume of
produced water needed.
6Material Handling and Spill
Prevention
Fluid levels within the Pond will be monitored using high-level fluid alarms and Iconics,
a fluid monitoring and reporting system. Oxy will operate the Facility to ensure the
required two feet of freeboard is maintained at the Pond.

Oxy will install two leak detection site pipes between the primary 60-mil HDPE and
secondary 60-mil HDPE liners to detect fluid accumulation between the liners. The
site pipes will be monitored at least everyother week and any fluid accumulation will be
sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Oxy will install a loading/unloading station (or equivalent delivery/retrieval system)
located next to the multi-well/production pit, to deliver fluids or to remove fluids from
the pit by truck. The loading/unloading station shall be designed and utilized to
prevent hoses from being dropped into the pits and dragged over the liner, which could
lead to liner damage. The loading/unloading station will be the only permitted access
for manual fluids transfers to or from the pit. Vehicles will not be allowed to approach
the pit any closer than the loading/unloading station. Each station will have a catch
basin in case a leak occurs while operations personnel are connecting or
disconnecting hoses. Signs clearly marking the truck loading/unloading station shall
be provided and maintained by the operator.
