In the fall we plan on developing the "Winter on the Mountain" concept with attractions that are more cold weather friendly. The program will feature winter attractions including a 500 foot long two lane tubing hill, a small ice skating rink, warming yurts, and holiday lighting throughout the park. Glenwood Springs' lowest occupancy is November through February. We plan on running the Winter on the Mountain program during those months on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM. This will hopefully drive tourism business during the months that we need help. Tubing Hill — The 500 foot long tubing hill will consist of two 500 foot long runs that will be build out of Zoomtrax an artificial tubing surface that can be used all year. The tubing hill will be lighted to allow for evening (after skiing) tubing. The lights will be turned off before 10:00 PM. The tubing hill will be serviced by a 500 foot long magic carpet conveyor belt to take guests from the bottom of the hill to the top. Holiday Lighting — The Mountain will be decorated with lighted displays, all the buildings outlined with lights and several large trees lighted and decorated. These lights will all be turned off by 10:00 PM. I have attached a site map showing the location of the new attractions along with several pictures of the tubing hill and Magic Carpet. I believe that these uses are consistent with the current uses at the park. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call me at 970-618-7127.
