Re: Director Decision for a Public Gathering to host the Nation Sheepdoa Trial
Finals from September 13 to 20, 2011 (GAPA 6967)
Dear Bridget and Kathleen,
This letter is provided to you as the owner of Laughing Stock, LLLP commonly known as
the Strang Ranch. Your application for a Land Use Change Permit for a Public Gathering
has been determined to be technically complete. Proper notice of the requested event
was sent to adjacent property owners within 200 feet within the required timeframe.
Staff received one email response in favor of the event (attached). The application has
been reviewed and has been approved by the Director subject to the following
conditions:
1. All representations within the application shall be considered conditions of
approval unless otherwise modified by the Director and or Board of County
Commissioners,
2. The applicant is responsible for providing traffic control during the event to
minimize congestion on the county road system. All event parking, loading /
unloading shall take place on private property. No event parking shall be allowed
within the public right-of-way of a county road. Prior to the event, contact the
Garfield County Road and Bridge Department (625-8601) to coordinate your
event with them.
3. Proper arrangements shall be made to provide adequate portable toilets and
sanitization for participants and attending public during the event.
4. The applicant shall contact the Garfield County Sherriffs Department to let them
know the event is taking place. The applicant shall provide for adequate on-site
security and safety protocols during the event to ensure the safety and security
of participants and the general public.

Please note: Written notice of this decision has been sent to the Board of County
Commissioners for their review on 8/31/1... The Unified Land. Use Resolution_of 200R, as
amended provides that the applicant, adjacent property owners, or the Board of County
Commissioners may request reconsideration of this determination within 10 days of this
decision (by September 10, 2011). If no request occurs, the decision becomes final. The
Administrative Permit will be issued upon expiration of that time if no request for
further consideration is received.
