We issued a revised foundation plan on June l, 2012 which included changes to interior and exterior
footings and walls. The revisions were issued to accommodate the collapsible soils identified by HP
Geotech. The recommendations in the Observation of Excavation and Soil Boring report from HP
Geotech, dated May 31, 2012 included lowering footings 5 ft on the lower Y, of the structure and
lowering the middle Y, of the structure 2 17 ft above the new lower level footings. The report also
recommended over-excavation to the above mentioned levels and placement of flowfill to original (permit
set) footing elevations. After discussing options with you and Dan Hardin of HP Geotech, the decision
was made to over-excavate to the recommended elevations and gain part of the elevation with flowfill and
the remaining height with deeper footings/taller walls. Please refer to the referenced HP Geotech report
for additions soils/foundation related recommendations.
Our intention is to issue an as-built set of drawings at the completion of the structural portion of your
project including these foundation changes and any possible future revisions.
