DIRECTOR DETERMINATION: Minor Modification to a Telecommunication
Tower, Special Use Permit
(File No. SURA -7619)
Dear Steve and Aaron:
This letter is provided to you as the owner and representative for the Special Use
Permit Amendment submitted by POW Inc. in conjunction with SMJ International.
The proposal is for the replacement of several antennas and upgrades to
infrastructure and support facilities. No increase in the number of antennas or in
the tower height is proposed. The tower is located north of Glenwood Springs in
Section 3, T6S, R89W, on property also known by Assessor's Parcel No. 2185-
033-00-034. The original tower was approved by Resolution No. 2007-66.
Pursuant to Section 4-106 of the Garfield County Land Use and Development
Code, a Director Determination is hereby issued finding the amendment is a
Minor Modification, and approving the Modification subject to compliance with all
existing conditions of approval contained in Resolution No. 2007-66 and the
following supplemental conditions:
1. Ail obsolete antennas shall be removed within six months of initial
installation of the replacement antennas.
2. The Applicant shall maintain compliance with all FAA and FCC
requirements pursuant to the Garfield County Land Use and Development Code.

This Determination will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for a
period of 10 days so that they may determine whether or not to call up the
application for further review. Once this time period has passed with no request
for review and provided all relevant conditions of approval have been resolved
the Amended Land Use Change Permit will be issued.
