We will increase the height to 8' per Matt's recommendation. Chad has been coordinating the noxious weed spraying, which occurred this week. He will forward you documentation regarding the spraying. Thanks for all your assistance, Richard From: Yamashita - DNR, Matt [mailto:matt.yamashita@state.co.us] Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2014 5:39 PM To: Richard Miller Cc: Taylor Elm - DNR Subject: Re: Wildlife Fence - Garfield County Richard, The fence materials and design look good. The only recommendation I would make would be to increase the height. We standard recommend eight foot fencing to exclude deer and elk. Six foot is too short as both deer and elk can still jump it. The six foot height is also right at the limit to what a deer or elk can easily clear and would likely result in animals getting caught on the top. A seven foot fence is better but again, is still in the range of where we would expect some issues with animals trying to jump and getting hung up. Hope this information is helpful and thank you for the opportunity to review. To follow-up on our phone conversation, please see photo below of fencing that we are proposing for the perimeter of our solar array in Garfield County. We can build the fence at 6' or 7' height. The grid on the fencing is 6" X 6". We are required to get your approval of the fencing before a construction permit will be is issued. If this type of fencing is not acceptable, let me know what you require and I will make it happen. Thanks very much for your help, Richard Richard L.
