Box 201 Rifle, CO 81650 6SGM www.sgm-inc.corn November 10, 2014 Re: OWTS Expansion, 1065 Gage Road, Garfield County, CO Dear Gary: The following recommendations are offered regarding the potential expansion of an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) for your property. The soil test pit excavated October 30, 2014 has resulted in a Soil Type 3 designation for use in the evaluation of the capacity of the existing disposal field'. Site investigation shows that the system is operating without issue and may be expanded, if necessary to accommodate the additional loadings from the 2 -bedroom employee residence and single bedroom above the garage. Design Criteria Total Number of Bedrooms: 6 (3 existing, 3 new LTAR: 0.35 gpd/SF t) Size Adjustment Factor 0.7 3 Results The above design criteria results in a septic tank size of 2,000 gallons (one existing 1,000 gallon tank; and one new 1,000 gallon two -chambered tank); The average daily design flow is 675 gallons per day; The total amount of absorption area required is 1,930 square feet; The reduced absorption area using chambers is 1,350 square feet; The total number of chambers (@ 15.9 SF/Chamber) required is 85. Therefore, the existing leach field consisting of eight lines with eleven EQ 36 Infiltrator Chambers in each line (88 total, 92' length per line) connected with a distribution box from the septic tank outlet tee. See attached Site Plan and system details.
