As per Section 4.03.07 (Industrial Operations) of the County Zoning Resolution: Location of area for which applied - Description on attached "Option to Buy Material" forms, both as a map form and legal description. Scope of work - To include removal of materials from locations as described on pit sketches. Material to be used for construction of Interstate Project I 70-1(39)100. Sequences of work performed by contractor will be as designated by the Division of Highways, as authorized in the Standard Specification book, under Section 105 . Sch~dule of construction - Starting date subject to awarding of contract and weather conditions. The contract was awarded January 10, 1974 and the work to be completed within 200 working days after contract time starts. All work by forces governed by this contract shall be in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of the County, State and Federal Governments, as described .in the Standard Specification book under Sections 107.01 -Law to be Observed; 107.23 -Air and Water Pollution; and/or all other sections of the Specification hook~thatpei"tain • • • . I 70-1(39) • • West of Rifle to Rifle County Planning and Zoning Glenwood Springs, Colorado -2- Plan for rehabilitation of area as described above: January 17, 1974 This area will include extraction of materials and other movements of equipment in Pit Area as designated on Pit Sketch. The contractor shall confine his activities and equipment within the limits of the pit and haul roads. These limits will be so marked prior to con- struction operations. The pit will be excavated to the lines and grades as established by the Engineer. The pit will be worked the full depth to elevation 5330.0; excava- tion shall proceed from south to north and from west to east. If bedrock is encountered above elevation 5330.0, the pit is to be excavated only to bedrock. Pit slopes are to be l eft no steeper than 2:1. Any parts of the pit (slopes or floor) where sand and gravel or bed- rock are exposed after the excavation is completed will be covered with a minimum of 6" of overburden from the pit. Any waste asphaltic material shall be removed from the premises. Any small ridges left on the east or west pit limits because of pro- perty lines will either be smoothed and sloped to 2:1 or flatter, or, if the Department reaches a suitable written agreement with the adjacent property owners, these slopes will be leveled to the elevation of the pit floor. This decision is reserved to the Department. All -State-.Highways _or County Roads crossed, or used as Haul Route, will be maintained and Flagmen will be used as deemed necessary by the Engineer during haul. After the hauling operation has been completed, these Highways and Roads will be left in a condition equal to their present condition . The Contractor's attention is called to the springs inunediately south of the pit. The Contractor shall be required to exercise caution to pre- vent damage to these springs. After completion of all operations within the limits of these pits, the Department will require the contractor to leave the entire area in a neat condition. Final cleaning up and Protection and Restoration of Property and Landscape as described in the Standard Specification book, Sections 104.06 and 107.12 will also be applicable in their entirety. All rehabilitation plans, as stated above, are in agreement with property. owners. .,. Slopes of the pit shall be left no steeper than 2:1. Stockpiled overburden shall be spread a minimum of 6" thick over any part of the slopes or floor of the .pit where sand and gravel or bedrock are exposed. 11.
