RE: Crane Runway Beam Assembly Structural Review
MCC Building Permit No. 60300; Compressor Bei/cling Permit No. 60299

Dan
As requertrd I have perforrred a structural review of the top running r--ne rail connectors for the runway beams
on both the MCC Building (3 Ton's and Compressor Building (5 Ton) cranes for the above referenced project
The intent of this review was not to verify the structs rat design or overall installation of these crane rail systems as
that is the responsibility of the bridge crane engineer and stated vendor This letter is to provide a summary of the
review of the ASCE crane rail spot (tack; welds that were employed as a method to facilitate the erection of the
runway beam assemblies prior to the installation of the vendor detailed "J -Bolts"
After reviewing the crane construction documents and the provided pctures; it appears that the overall structural
integrity has not been compromised by these welds and the intent of of the crane system is in compliance with the
attached details from the -rane supplier, American Equipment, Inc. Attached to this letter are these pictures
illustrating the welds and the prescribed "J -Balt" connections. See the crane vendor runway beam connection
details (page 3) for additional information kter reviewing the crane rail drawings and the fact that the ASCE rail is
intended to serve as a "runway" for the bridge support beams 1 see no evidence to indicate a diminishing of the
intended structural adequacy of this system The elds in question do not impair either the cap channels or the mils
themselves
Please feel free tC rrnntact me if you have any questions regarding this setter.
Sincerely.
Bill Rose P.E.
