The plan has been slightly modified from that of April 19, 201 t. At that time you had decided to forego the piering at the garage . This plan is for piering the garage only. Ten push piers are proposed, but keep in mind that, with underpinning projects such as this, the field conditions encountered during the piering progress may dictate a change in the number of piers and in pier spacing. This plan does not include any slab piers. However, depending upon the amount of void created under the slab as the footings and walls are ra ised, it may be necesse.ry to install slab piers at proper intervals and/or to inject PolyLEVEL foam under the slab to provide proper slab stabilization. It is my recommendation at this time that Foundation Repair of Western Colorado (FRWC) consider installing steel of HSS cross section between the bottom of the footings and the pier brackets, particularly at pier numbers 3 through 10. This will not only help distribute the load bearing under the footings over a larger area of footing, but also help reduce the effective distance between piers . This is a normal practice but it is not always used, depending, in fact, upon the cond ition of the concrete footings and stem walls. The use of the steel can be an on-site decision.
