The following changes to the structure m:1y be made : -A 2x 10 ledger m;1y be used at the Jeck framing. The 2x I 0 is to be nailed to the wall framing with 5-16d nails at each stud, with a maximum spacing between rows of 16" o.c. T he specified joist hangers arc to be nailed to the ledger. -The conc rete piers supporting the deck columns may be square rather than the round piers we had previously specified . 4-#5 dowels arc to be hooked from the footing to the pier, the remaining information found on detail 3 on sheet S3. l remains relevant. -The b<1semcnt slab may be poured with 3000 psi concrete in place of the 4000 psi concrete that we had specified . The lesser compressive strength of 3000 psi m;1y cause more cracking in the slab and the owner must be willing to ;m:ept the potential for :1dditional visual defects. The welded wire fabric in the slab may also be replaced with #4 re bar at 16" o.c. each way. -The stone \'en eer shown in detail 3 on sheet S3. l may be supported by a 3x3 angle in place of the dry stacked emu. The angle should be fastened to the concrete wall with 1/2" diameter cxp;msion bolts@ 24" o.c., embed 4" into the concrete. Ensure the ledger and fasteners arc properly protected to prevent moisture contact . .---· Reviewed By: Jack Albright, PE 14012M1 Albright & . .\!rocia tes, In c 970 92 7 4363 offru -9 70 .92 7.3039 fm • 402 ParkA,-e., U11it I:• Ba~t, CO 8 1621 • \\'\\w.al bri$!1ll-3~ocin t e; com
