Please be advised that building permits expire, per Uniform Building Code, section 106.4.4. "Every permit
issued by the building official under the provisions of this code shall expire by limitation and become null
and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 days from the date
of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time
after the work has commenced for a period of 180 days. Before such work can be recommenced, a new

Upon receipt of the building permit for foundation remediation work at the Olson residence, we were
informed that there would not be any specific inspection of the work unless we encountered problems at which
time we would inform your office of our findings or inability to resolve the issue. We were told rt was required to
have an engineer review our work and issue a final letter of approval for your office. KRM Consultants Inc. of
Avon, Co. reviewed our initial findings for analysis, ran the structure bad values and approved aur helical pier
layout prior to our permit application and per my conversation with you as to your office requirements for the
permit. There would be no change to structure, egress, interior lay -out or exterior changes involved in our
work. The work performed was; exterior excavation around 75% of the structure to the tooter, pier installation,
structure lift and or stabilization, installation of new perimeter drain with the proper slope, fill void under portions
of the interior slab and clean-up
When I came to the Garfield County Building & Planning Dept. with our installation records and our
letter of review, I was informed that neither you nor any of the other inspectors were in, that she would pull the
file for review and if there were any problems, I would be contacted.
Andy, I did not get copies of your letters of non compliance until August and therefore did not realize there was
a problem with our work and I apologize. I have attached your letters, our installation records and a copy of
KRM's letter. It was my belief that these items were already in your files and all necessary requirements had
been accomplished.
I do not know what else I can do or if you will allow us to reverse the current status but if I can be of any
