Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
88 Pine Street
Garfield County, Colorado
Permit Number SEPT -10-14-3432
Chris,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS)
on June 9 and July 20, 2015 for the subject property. PifCo installed the system.
The system installation included a new 1500 -gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank with an
Orenco® Biotube Pump Vault and Orenco® PF3005 pump installed in the second compartment of the
septic tank. On/Off floats were spaced approximately 10 -inches apart to achieve a 100 -gallon dose. The
control panel for the pump is located within line of sight of the septic tank (east side of house).
Effluent is pressure dosed through a 1.25 -inch diameter pipe to an Orenco® model 6402 automatic
distributing valve (ADV), and then to two gravelless chamber beds, each with three rows of seven `Quick
4' Infiltrator® chambers, for a total of 42 chambers and 504 square feet of infiltrative area. The chambers
in each bed are connected by a 1.25 -inch diameter level manifold. Laterals are hung with zip ties from
the underside of the chambers, with 3/16 -inch diameter holes facing up, with the exception of the last
hole facing down for drainage. The holes are placed 2 -feet on center. Each lateral ends in a 90 degree
sweeping ell facing up with a ball valve for flushing. These were placed in valve boxes, accessible from
grade, for access.
The infiltrative area was in the sandy loam/ loamy sand horizon, approximately 2 -feet above the more
gravelly horizon.
The ditch that runs along the west side of the property was not lined due to water flowing through the
ditch during the time of the system installation. Arrangements are being made for either 1) temporarily
placing a culvert in the ditch, or 2) turning the ditch off and properly lining it within 50 -feet of the soil
treatment area (STA).
During the time the ditch is unlined, the pump in the septic tank will remain in the OFF position,
with the CONTROL breaker ON allowing the alarm to remain powered. If the alarm sounds,
arrangements for pumping the septic tank must be made. The pump may not be activated until a
culvert has been set in place or properly lined. This office must be contacted to verify the
installation and written confirmation submitted to Garfield County Community Development prior
to activating the pump.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS:
Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC
