GENERAL NOTES:
Plans to be included for a Building Permit, must be on drafting paper at least 18"x24" and
drawn to scale.
Plans must include a floor plan, a concrete footing and foundation plan, elevations all sides with
decks, balcony, steps, hand rails and guard rails, windows and doors, including the finish grade line.
A section showing in detail, from the bottom of the footing to the top of the roof, including re -bar,
anchor bolts, pressure treated plates, floor joists, wall studs and spacing, insulation, sheeting, house -
rap, (which is required), siding or any approved building material.
A window schedule. A door schedule.
A floor framing plan, a roof framing plan, roof must be designed to withstand a 40 pound per square
foot up to 7,000 feet in elevation, an 80 M.P.H. windshear, wind exposure B, windload of 15 pounds
per square foot, and a 36 inch frost depth.
All sheets to be identified by number and indexed. All of the above requirements must be met or
your plans will be returned.
All plans submitted must be incompliance with the 1997 UBC, UMC and 1997 UPC.
1. Is a site plan included that identifies the location of the proposed structure or addition and
distances to the property lines from each corner of the proposed structure(s) prepared by a
licensed surveyor and has the surveyors signature and professional stamp on the drawing?

At your request, we checked the capacity of our solarium frame and vertical wall unit
for 40 PSF live/snow load, and an 80 MPH exposure C wind load for th(Donofnn
solarium under the Denver UBC 97 code book of requirements.
In my opinion, the frames will carry these loads at 38 1/4" o.c. Please take note of
the various assumptions made as outlined in the summary. These were utilized in
formulating our general approach to the development of the results contained within
the report.
1. The allowable stresses on the extruded aluminum glazing bars are based on
6061-T6 aluminum as provided by Sunshine Rooms.
2. All structural section properties of the glazing bars are as given by Sunshine
Rooms. I + 2.3 in. (4) A 1.98 in. (2) S = 1.2 in. (3).
3. Load requirements are provided by the customer.
4. All connections associated with the glazing bars relative to this report are
assumed to be on a non -welded nature.
S. This report only verifies the adequacy of the glazing bar under the loading
conditions indicated above. Our values are based on the glass transferring
lateral wind loads, unless otherwise noted.
6. All recommended minimum section properties, as given, is based on the
assumption that the members meet the slenderness criteria for full allowable
stresses.

Garfield County, CO.
As requested by Erik Larson of Saw Horse, Inc. our office has reviewed
construction documents for the noted addition. The documents included a plan view,
foundation sections and south and east building elevations of the planed 14'-0" by 24'-0"
addition. These documents were stamped by the Garfield County Building Department,
and dated 06/07/04. A supplemental foundation plan showing the location of the existing
`pier' type footings as well as the proposed foundation walls and footings was attached to
the stamped documents.
I understand that the new concrete footings are to be 16" wide by 36" deep and
attached to the existing `pier' footings with #4 dowels. I also understand that the new
foundation walls are to be 8" thick concrete walls formed with stay -in-place polystyrene
foam forms. After reviewing the documents, I performed an analysis of the design gravity
loads plus structure dead Toads imposed on the structure, as well as an analysis of the
lateral earth pressures imposed on the west foundation wall. I recommend that the north
end of the west foundation wall be doweled into the existing foundation wall with
horizontal #4 dowels at 2'-0" on center.
It is my professional opinion that the addition as shown is structurally adequate if
constructed in accordance with the noted construction documents and the
recommendations contained in this memo.
