Provide approved assemblies for the different occupancy separations shown on the plans. Enclosed are sample assemblies from the Gypsum Association. Other sources of tested assemblies are the 97 UBC and UL listings. 2. Provide details of the sand and oil separators relating to the basement level repair shop. Please reference Sec 1003 of the IPC. 3. Provide details for the ventilation system associated with this level. Please reference Sec.1202.2.4. 4. An increase in the light and ventilation is required for the Studios also on this level. See Sec 1203 for requirements. 5. Adequate ventilation and other requirements relating to the hay storage can be found in Article 81 of the 1997 UFC. Please submit the plans required to meet these requirements. 6. Please note the two exit requirements for the basement level. 7. As per Sec. 904.2.6.2 an automatic fire -extinguishing system is required for the basement level. 1t would be good to include the rest of the building due to its remote location. 8. Please provide details of the heating system for the mechanical room on the In level. Size of boiler, venting, and combustion air requirements as per UMC should be referenced. 9. Provide an engineered septic system. Final approval of the system should include a stamped letter from the design engineer. 10. See Approved Plans for other redlined items. Please call if you have any questions. We look forward to working with you on this project. General Contractor: English & Associates Contractor that Performed Work: Myers & Company Inspection of shop fabrication or field work at job site: Field Report: Visually inspected the floor deck puddle welds. The other field welding at the bar joists & floor support beams along with the high strength bolting will be inspected at a later date after the foundation level floor slab has been placed, so that the welds can be accessed with a lift or ladder from below. These welds had already been covered with decking before the inspection visit was made & will have to be accessed from below. The deck puddle welds inspected above appeared to be of acceptable quality per the AWS structural welding code. The welding & high strength bolting inspected above appeared to be as shown on the drawings and was of acceptable quality per the requirements of the AWS D1.1 structural welding code & the AISC Specification for Structural Joints Using ASTM A325 or A490 Bolts except for a few items as listed below. 1) Column was not yet installed at grid A/3 between the foundation & main floor level. 2) Anchor nuts needed to be snug tightened at wall ledger angle along grid line A between grid lines 1 & 3 at the main floor level. 3) There was a gap between the top of the column and the bottom flange of the beam at approximately grid B.3/3 main floor level. Shim column as required. 4) Add anchors at beam grid 11/6 upper floor level. 5) At the beam to beam connection approximately grid G.8/3.8 on the upper floor level the beam size & connection detail had apparently been changed from the original erection drawings. Need paper work approving change. 6) At the beam to beam connections grids G to 14 at 4.5 & 3.8 upper page 2 of 2 floor level 5/8" diameter A307 bolts had been substituted for the 1/4" diameter A325 bolts shown on the erection drawings. Need paper work approving substitution. nspector/Technician: Douglas E Young r West Slope Testing & Inspection 3177 Glendam Dr. Grand Junction, CO 81504 Phone: 970-434-6988 Cell: 970-260-2844 Final Inspection Report Report #3 Page 1 of 1 Date: 4-8-04 & 5-5-04 Project: Okanela Barn Address: 2518 County Rd. 137 Glenwood Springs CO. General Contractor: English & Associates Contractor that Performed Work: Myers & Company Inspection of shop fabrication or field work at job site: Field Report: Visually inspected the welding at the additional steel plates added at the main floor level beam pockets per the engineers detail. Visually inspected the welding at the two hanger reinforcement plate assemblies added per the engineers detail at the upper floor level. Reinspected items numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4 noted in report number 2. Also received documentation from the structural engineer approving items numbered 5 & 6 noted on report number 2. To the best of my knowledge this completes the special inspections of the structural welding & high strength bolting. To the best of my knowledge the structural welding & high strength bolting met the quality requirements of the 1997 UBC, AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code, and the AISC Specification for Structural Joints Using ASTM A325 or A490 Bolts.
