SCHMUESER GORDON MEYER TO: MEMORANDUM Mark Bean, Director of Building and Planning Garfield County 109 8th Street Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601 FROM: Jefferey S. Simonson, P.E. DATE: 9-3-2002 SUBJ: City of Rifle, Northeast Water System Improvements and Pump Station RECEIVED SEP 0 1 202 GARFIELD COUNTY BUILDING & PLANNING Mark, Per our prior correspondence to yourself and your response, therein, please find attached the budding permit application for the City of Rifle to conduct the construction of the potable water pump station on its parcel of land containing it's 3.0 million gallon storage tank. We have attached the following for your review and processing: I. Garfield County Building Permit Application—filled out for the purpose of the structure containing the pump station. 2. Two (2) sets of project drawings (11X17 format) for descnption of the project 3. Completed checklist of "Minimum Application Requirements for Construction of a Commercial or Multi -Family Residential Buildings" As we discussed in our prior correspondence, the City wishes to utilize two sources for conducting the required UBC building inspections for this project. The first being the City's own Building Official (Kevin Roberts @ 625-6226) and the second being Schmueser Gordon Meyer field representatives (Blaine Wright @ 379-5538 and Brian Prunty @ 379-1101). I understand that in order for this to function properly, the City needed to provide the County Building Department with the above transmitted information from which a building permit could be issued, but administered by Mr. Roberts with the City of Rifle. I hope that the information presented is of sufficient nature to process the building permit. Upon your receipt, if you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to call. Thanks! Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process. Reviewing a plan and the discovery that required information has not been provided by the applicant may result in the delay of the permit issuance and in proceeding with building construction. The owner or contractor may be required to provide this information before the plan review may proceed. This causes delays because other plans that are in line for review may be given attention before the new information may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department. Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design your project and provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. If you do not, it may be helpful to obtain a book titled "Dwelling Construction Under the Uniform Building Code". This book is available to you through this department at our cost. Also, please consider using a design professional for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project. To provide for a more understandable plan in order to determine compliance with the building, plumbing and mechanical codes, applicants are requested to review the following checklist prior to and during design. 1 Plans to be included for a Building Permit must be on draft paper at least 18"x 24" and drawn to scale.
