The perimeter straw bale walls in conjunction with the interior framed partitions will function as shear walls to support the flexible plywood roof diaphragm. All interior partitions will extend to the roof/oeiling except the north kitchen wall. The straw bale walls will have stucco/plaster on each face and will be anchored to the roof diaphragm by means of rebar or bamboo pins placed through 2x blocking. It is my understanding that the maximum roof height will be approximately 20 feet rather than 25 feet as noted on the south side elevation drawing.
