reg istered in Colorado.
6. Where required constrUction details are not shown or noted on these plans the contractor shall notify the engineer and the
engineer shall provide sufficient detail s for th e work to proceed.

I . Design of individual and continuous footings is based on an ass um ed bearing pressu re of 2,000psf. This is ass uming that all
footings will be placed on a minimum of 12" of compacted stru ct ural fiU .

I. AU concrete design is based on the "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete" (AO 318-99).
2. All s uucrural concrete shall have a minimum 28-day compress ive st rength of 3,000 psi.
3. Provide continuous shear keys at vertical cold joints and where shown on drawings.
4. All detailing, fabric ation, and placement of reinforcing steel sh all be in accord ance with th e ACI Manual o f Concrete Practice.
5. Except where otherwise noted on the drawings , reinforcing bars shall conform to ASTM Specification A615· 79 an d shal l be
minimum grade 60.
6. AU slabs-on-ground shall be 4 " thick and reinforced with 4 "x4"-W2.9xW2.9 welded wire fabric or #4@ 18" on
cent er each way unless noted otherwise on the plan s. Reinforcement to be placed in cent er of slab. Thicken all free slab edges to
8" x 8" with 2--115 co ntinuous (top and bottom). Provide construction/control joints in slabs-on-g round not to exceed 15 ' on
ce nter or as shown on the plans.
7. At spli ces in concrete, lap bars 36 diameters. At splices in masonry, lap bars 42 d iameters . At comers, make hori zon tal bars
continuous or provide co me r bars. Aroun d openings and steps in walls provide (2) #5 's extending 2'-0 beyond edge of opening
or step. (Unless noted oth erwi se on the drawings horizontal bars at th e top grade b eams shall be spliced only at mid-span
between piers, and horizontal bonom bars shall be spliced only at pier centerlines).
8. Except as noted on the drawings, minimum co ncre te protecti on for reinforcement sh al l be in accordance with AO 3 18-9 9.
9. Co ntro l joints in slabs shall be sawn or cut in and spaced not to exceed 12' -0" o.c.
