I. GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Request
The Applicant's representative requests a one year extension to complete the conditions of
approval as documented in Resolution 2012-93. This time extension is needed to
complete the conditions of approval, specifically the realignment of the Basin Ditch.

The Board of County Commissioners approved this application on November 13, 2012wilh
conditions of approval.
II. SITE DESCRIPTION
The Blue Pit is located approximately 2.5 miles directly northeast of Carbondale, Colorado,
north of SH 82, and east of County Road 103.
III. REV!EW STANDARDS AND STAFF COMMENTS
The Board has the authority under Section 4-101 of the Land Use and Development Code
(LUDC) to grant time extension requests. This section of the LUDC is as follows:
Secfion +101 (l)(2).
l. Extension of Conditional Approval.
It is the Applicant's responsibility to timely satisfy any conditions of approval. Prior to
the expiration of a conditional approval, however, the Applicant may request an
extension of the expiration date as follows:
2. First Extension.
a. Extensions of 1 year may be granted for all conditional Land Use Change
approvals, and Subdivision or Conservation Subdivision Preliminary Plan
approvals.
IV. STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners approve the request from
Applicant for a time extension of one year for the Blue Pit located on a 247.94 acres parcel
located at 14682 State Highway 82.
V. RECOMMENDEDFINDINGS
1. Proper notice was provided as required for the meeting before the Board of County
Commissioners.
2. The meeting before the Board of County Commissioners was extensive and complete,
that all pertinent facts, matters and issues were submitted and that all interested parties
were heard at that meeting.
3. The above stated and other reasons, the Applicant has demonstrated that the one year
time extension to complete the conditions of approval plan is necessary because
original conditions of approval cannot be met within the existing timeframe.
