necessary plumb ing.

MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
For
MANUFACTURED HOMES
In order to understand the scope of the work intended under a permit application and expedite the issuance of a
permit it is important that complete information be provided. When reviewing a plan and it 's discovered that
required information has not been provided by the applicant, this will result in the delay of the permit issuance
and in proceeding with building construction. T he owner or contractor sha ll be required to prov id e this
information before the plan review can proceed. Other plans that are in line for review may be given attention
before the new information may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department.
Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design yom· project and
provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. Also, please consider using a design professional
for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project.
To provide for a more understandable plan in orde r to determine compliance with the building, plumbing and
mechanical codes, applicants are requ ested to revi ew the following checkl ist prior to and during design.
Applicants are required to indicate appropr iate ly and to submit the comp leted check li st at time of application for a
permit.
All plans submitted must be incompliance with the 2003 IRC fot· Residences and 2003 IBC for Commercial
Offices and Storage.

If the accesses are on Chevron property you will not need driveway access permits for the well locations. On your applic~tion just put
down exempted as per Jake Mall and if B & P has any questions they will call me. I sllould also receive a comment form from B & P

Good Morning Jake -
1 am working on some building permit applications for temporary housing on 3 Chevron well locations in the Skinner Ridge area north
of DeBeque, and realized that 1 need a letter from the Garfield County Road & Bridge Dept. stating that one is not needed.
All three locations, SKR 598-25-AV, BV, and CV, are located in Section 25, Township 5 South, Range 98 West and are
approximately 3-4 miles north of where CR 211 ends at Chevron property. All three locations are COGCC permitted and approved.
Is it possible to get an exemption letter from you? lf not, will you let me know what additional information you require?
I sure do appreciate all your help. Feel free to give me a cal! with any questions or concerns that you may have.

The Colorado Division of Housing would like to clarify issues related to the use of structures at remote sites.
(Man Camps)
Will these units require an automatic sprinkler system?
Typically Yes. R-2 occupancies {dormitories) falls under the IBC and R occupancies in the IBC require a
sprinkler installation per Section 903.2.7.
The occupancies and design codes are to be specified by the factories when the plans are submitted for
approval. See Chapter 3 of the IBC for Use and Occupancy Classification.
The occupant load is to be stated on the plans. See Section 1004.1 in the IBC. If beds are provided by the
manufacturer they are to be shown on the plans and labeled (single, bunk, etc)
For small housing only (No mixed use; just bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, small living room) with
accommodations for five or fewer people DOH will accept an R-3 occupancy classification under the IRC
code. No sprinkler system is required under the IRC, but escape windows and all other code requirements
in the IRC and NEC relating to a dwelling will be required. Note: The IRC has been adopted within
Resolution 35.
If 6-10 beds are provided and only a maximum of 5 people are sleeping at any one time due to work time shifts
the following will need to be provided for each model type:
Two letters, (1) from the Oil field workers employer who is using the housing and (1) from the housing
manufacturer stating they are aware of the issue and that no more than 5 people wilt be sleeping in this
model due to time shifts.
The plans will need to have an occupant load of 5 or less and the following statement on the cover
page "Due to worker's time shifts, no more than 5 people will be sleeping in this unit"
A sign made of metal or other durable material is to be permanently attached inside near the entrance
door with minimum X" high letters stating:
"This building is designed for people on time shifts. An automatic fire sprinkler system is required when
more than 5 people will be sleeping at any time"
An approved fire extinguisher will be required. Shown on the plans and provided by the manufacturer.
Only DOH shall fill out the insignias for these units (AC) and will fill out "See sign by entry" in the fire
