HomeMy WebLinkAbout10.0 Water and Wastewater PlansWater Supply and Distribution Pian Drinking water will be supplied and delivered by the Thirsty Water Company of Glenwood Springs, CO. We will make use of their Water Buffalo Trailer. This trailer holds 1235 gallons of drinking water, with water spigots that will serve a variety of event types. We plan to have potable water delivered by Thirsty Water Company at a rate of up to 3100 gallons per delivery. This water will supply the vault and haul sanitation systems for the toilets and sinks. Each sink will have a do not drink, (non -potable) water sign. Water demand will vary depending on the size of events and we will order water accordingly on an event by event basis. (see attach: 6- Thirsty quote and contract as well as their certified state number.) We plan to run a pipeline from the existing subdivision system already in place to furnish an outside hydrant strictly for maintenance, ranch use and fire mitigation. Indoor fire sprinklers have been deemed unnecessary by the Fire Marshall, so no water is required for such a system.(see attach: 3- Fire Mitigation Plan) Due to the dry - land natural state of the site we will not be using an outdoor irrigation system. This pipeline is part of our 12-18 month plan for the ranch. Waste Water Management and System Plan After much deliberation and forethought, we will be using a vault and haul sanitation system. It is best suited for our application. Our facility is not full-time. Most of our events will have an average of 150-175 people. We anticipate at most two events per weekend during the months from May -October. Because of the seasonal, sporadic nature of the projected use this is the logical/smart choice. We see the advantage to having our on-site vault and haul system as being less impactful. There will be one-half the impact of having porta-potties delivered and removed for each event; as well as the convenience of having an accessible on-site facility. The wastewater from the sinks and toilets will be stored in a minimum 2000 gallon holding tank and pumped after each event. United Site Services of Colorado, Inc. will be providing this service. We plan to pass this cost to each client. (see attach: 7- United Site Services sample quote and contract.) The tank will be cement because of its suitability for the soils in the area. (see attach: 10- the Web Soils Survey and Site Plan) This size of tank will be more than sufficient for the size of events we foresee. See the proposed location of the holding tank on the site map. It is located more than 100 feet from the waters edge. The onsite sinks will also provide a potable hand washing location for potential event caterers.
