Mr. Fred Jarman Garfield County Planning 109 8th Street, Suite 303 Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
Dear Mr. Jarman: Pursuant to Resolution 2012-15 Section 3c, Glenwood Tramway, LLC is required to submit development plans to the Director of Building and Planning to determine if the future uses are consistent with the character of the existing facility.
In the fall we plan on developing our newest ride, “The Haunted Mine Shaft ride”. The newest ride is basically a standard drop tower ride installed into a shaft. I have enclosed our ride manufacturers preliminary drawings for your approval. The ride will be built to all ASTM standards and be inspected by the Colorado State Amusement Ride inspector.
With other facilities such as Steamboat and Vail installing rides, this ride will help us remain competitive for the Colorado tourism dollar and will be beneficial to Glenwood Springs and Garfield county. As you can see from the drawings the ride will be housed in a small building and will not be visible from town.
I believe that this new ride is consistent with the current uses at the park. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me at 970-618-7127. Steve Beckley
