Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
388 Hidden Glen Road
Lot 20, Mountain Springs Ranch
Garfield County, Colorado
Permit Number SEPT-04-16-4148
Earl,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS)
on July 21, 2016 for the subject property. Miles Rippey installed the system.
The system installation included a 1250-gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank with an Orenco®
ProPak and PF3005 pump in the second compartment. There is a filter in the second compartment of
the septic tank. This filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed. The pump floats are set to dose
approximately 90 gallons per dose. The control panel for the pump was placed within line of sight of the
septic tank. Valley Precast personnel performed start up on the pumping system.
Effluent is pumped through a 1.5-inch diameter Schedule 40 discharge pipe to an automatic distributing
valve (ADV) Model 6402. The ADV is placed at the high point of the system and is accessible from
grade.
Effluent is distributed to two pressurized 12’ x 41’ beds with 1-foot of ASTM C33 concrete sand installed
at the bottom of the over-excavated STA. Two rows of 10 Eljen® A42 modules are placed on top of the
sand filter material in each bed and connected with level 1.5-inch diameter manifolds. Effluent is
pressurized through 1.5-inch laterals, with 5/32-inch orifice holes facing UP (12-o’clock) with the first and
last holes facing DOWN (6-o’clock) for drainage, 3-feet on center. Laterals are placed inside 4-inch
diameter perforated SDR 35 pipe (with holes at 4 and 8 o’clock), per Eljen® specifications. Each 1.5-inch
diameter lateral ends in a sweeping ell facing up with a ball valve for flushing. Inspection ports are
located in all four corners of each bed.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OW TS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS:
Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,
