Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
Lot 1, Homestead Estates
341 Homestead Road
Garfield County, Colorado
OWTS Permit SEPT-03-16-4084
Page,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OW TS)
on August 23 and September 20, 2016 for the subject property. Sacred Ground Excavation installed the
system.
There are three sewer lines exiting the structure. These lines are all relatively close to grade; therefore,
you have opted to place heat tape and spray foam over the lines to protect from freezing. A double-
sweep clean out was installed after the point where each of these lines come together, but before the
septic tank.
The system installation included a new 1000-gallon, two-compartment Valley Precast concrete septic
tank with an Orenco® Biotube Pump Vault and Orenco® PF3005 pump. The control panel for the pump
was installed within line of sight of the septic tank. Valley Precast out of Buena Vista performed start-up
on the pump system.
Effluent is pumped through a 1.5-inch diameter transport line to a Model 6403 Automatic Distributing
Valve (ADV), which was installed in an insulated riser at the high point of the line and was accessible
from grade at the time of our inspection. Initially, this was installed upside down, but was later corrected.
Effluent is distributed via 1.5-inch diameter transport pipes from the valve to three NDDS zones. Each
zone consists of a 2-inch diameter manifold and five 2-inch distribution laterals, each 100-feet long.
Laterals were installed at each side of 2-foot bucket sweep, with each line 2-feet on center. Laterals
have ¼-inch orifice holes at 6 o’clock, 8-inches on center.
A 2-inch diameter inspection port, connected to the distal end of one lateral in each zone, was installed.
The inspection ports may be cut to grade and covered with a sprinkler box for access. W e recommend a
threaded cap on the 2-inch diameter port. The ports include a 1/8-1/4” drilled hole, for an air release.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,
