FIELD REPORT
I was on site on September 26, 2016 to observe the framing after MEP installation. The
framing appeared to be installed per plan and the craftsmanship seemed good. The
following items were noted as areas of concern at the time of my visit and should be
addressed as outlined below.
Item I : It was noted that the pre-engineered trusses above the Garage had been drilled for
electrical and plumbing and that the bolts in the top chord had been
countersunk to flush. Based on review of the locations and the affected member
stresses, we found that in this case no corrective action is required.
Item 2: I observed the cripple studs in the over -framing above the Mud Room and Master
Bath not to be installed per plan. These studs need to be installed to assure
uniform distribution of the roof load onto the structural framing below.
Item 3: The Master Bathroom toilet line was observed to be drilled horizontally through a
floor joist on the angle creating an approximately 6" hole about 20" from the
support. Based on our review using the proprietary software from Boise, we
found that the hole is acceptable and no corrective action is required.
Item : 1 also observed that the central vacuum Iines were installed such that 2" holes
were drilled less than 6" from the support at both ends of some of the Living
Room floor joists. These holes were found not to be acceptable and require
reinforcement. Please see the attached detail provided by Boise for the
appropriate remediation.
The above represents our report of events noted and items discussed, and will be relied upon as true
and correct by all parties unless notified within 5 working days of receipt.
