HomeMy WebLinkAboutOWTS Installation Observations 12.12.16 December 12, 2016 Project No. C1212 Kirk Williams kirkwilliams@hangar45.com Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations 4 Red Tail Lane Garfield County, Colorado Permit Number SEPT-05-16-4231 Kirk, ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OW TS) on September 30, October 1, and October 20, 2016 for the subject property. Rudd Construction installed the system. The existing system serving the existing 3-bedroom residence remains in use. The system installation included a new 1000-gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank with an effluent filter on the outlet tee to serve the new additional dwelling unit (ADU). A new sewer line was run from the new septic tank to an existing sewer line that was already installed by a previous owner under the driveway. This sewer line runs into the existing 1000-gallon, 2-compartment septic tank that serves the 3-bedroom house. A new Bull Run Valve was installed after the existing 1000-gallon septic tank. The existing STA consists of approximately 675 square feet of infiltrative area in a chamber trench configuration. Effluent is distributed by a distribution box. This distribution box was uncovered and checked during construction of the new STA. The distribution box was brought to grade for future access. A new distribution box was installed to serve the new soil treatment area (STA). The new STA consists of three rows of 19 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers, for a total area of 684 square feet of infiltrative area. Trenches were separated by at least 6-feet of undisturbed soil. Inspection ports were installed at both the beginning and end of each trench. The property owner or occupant is responsible for keeping records on the frequency of alternating each STA. We recommend rotating the valve on an annual basis. Records must be available for review by Garfield County, if requested. We have provided a document to assist in record keeping (enclosed). The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions.
