Bulletin
No.0024
The following changes I clarifications are issued to all plan holders of record. It is to be the responsibility
of all bidders to read the entire bulletin and verify its applicability to their scope of work. Information
provided here supersedes all previously issued information.
Bulletin Description, General: Roof Ventilation Clarification
Narrative:
Mr. Wilson
Thank you for reviewing the roof ventilation for the new FBO with us at the site on 09/30/2016.
After reviewing the existing conditions for the roof insulation it appears we have three conditions that
need to be addressed .
The first condition on the roof includes areas that have both the soffit vents and the ridge vents.
Those areas have the baffles installed in the roof cavity and should ventilate properly. That system has
been reviewed by you in the field. We went around the building to verify the baffles had been installed
above the roof insulation in all areas of the building that had been insulated with just the batt insulation.
It appeared that the baffles had been placed. This system appears to be acceptable to all parties.
The second area in the building is where we have sprayed insulation against the roof sheathing
and have added an R-30 batt insulation below that insulation. That insulation has been installed without
a vapor barrier. That system has been reviewed with you in the field. This system appears to be
acceptable to all parties.

The third area of the building is where we have limited ventilation to the roof cavity due to over
framed conditions and/or cathedral ceiling conditions. At these locations we feel that an acceptable
solution to this area would be to add the COR-A VENT "In Vent" product in the field of the roof. This
system would introduce ventilation air into the roof cavity that is not provided with a soffit vent. We feel
that these locations have the baffles installed in the roof assembly so that when the "In -Vent" system is
installed the work will occur from the roof not requiring any modifications to the interior of the space.
Prior to installing this system, we would like to allow the building to go through a "Winter Seasonp
to see how the roof performs and if there are any issues with ice damming or unusual snow build up
conditions. After the season is over we would evaluate the roof and see if the "ln Vent "system is needed
and if that is the case we would install the system as described in the field. Any installation of the system
would be placed at a minimum of 24" away from the valley conditions to minimize the impact of any snow
or ice buildup negatively effecting the system.
If this concept is acceptable to the County, we will proceed in this direction.
Thank you for working with us on this issue.
