The following items are required by Garfield County for a final inspection:
l A final Electrical Inspection from the Colorado State Electrical Inspector.
2. A permanent address assigned by the Garfield County Building Department posted where
it is readily visible from an access road,
3. A finished roof a lockable house, complete exterior siding, exterior doors and windows
installed, a complete kitchen with cabinets, a sink with hot & cold running water, kitchen
floor coverings, counter tops and finished walls, ready for stove and refrigerator, all
necessary plumbing.
4. A complete bathroom, with wash bowl, tub or shower, toilet stool, hot & cold running
water, all floors and walls finished and a privacy door
5. All steps inside or outside over three (3) steps must have handrails. All balconies or decks
over 30" high mush have guardrails constructed to meet all 1994 UBC requirements.
6. Outside grading done to where water will detour away from the building.
7. Exceptions to the outside steps, decks and grading may be made upon the demonstration
of extenuating circumstances, i.e., weather, but a Certificate of Occupancy will not be
issued until all the required items are completed and a final inspection made.
A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY `WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL ALL LHE ABOVE
ITEMS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

A routine review of our op building permits indicates that we have not received a request for an inspectior
on this permit since /D- tein
Please be advised that building permits expire, per Uniform Building Code, section 106.4.4 and 106.4.5, 180
days after they are issued, if the work authorized by the permit has not commenced or is suspended or
abandoned. The permit may be extended by written request to the building official, showing that
circumstances beyond your control have caused a delay. Permits that have been expired for 180 days or less
may be renewed for one half of the original permit fee. Permits that have been expired for longer than 180
days require payment of a new full permit fee.
Please contact this office at your very earliest convenience, in writing, to advise about the status of your
permitted work.
If you have not responded within thirty days from the receipt of this notice the permit will be closed
and a permanent notation will be placed in the property records at the County Assessors office that
indicates that the work permitted was not inspected, is not approved and that the building or area ma
not be legally occupied.

Dear Building Department,
in response to your letter dated August 13, 2002 (copy enclosed for your convenience), the reason that
you have not received a request for an inspection since October 4, 2000 was because my wife and
daughter bother suffered serious medical problems, and I was unable to continue with the building
process.
However, we are now ready to resume construction. We had the electrical inspection (permit # 3859420)
on April 5, 2001 and rough plumbing inspection on October 4, 2000. (A copy of the building permit
/inspection card enclosed.) We are also now ready for an insulation inspection.
Thank you for your und-rs�tanding in this matter and we anxiously await your 180 day extension.

Building Permit, number 6 ? % ( , was due to expire, per section 106.4.4
& 5 of Uniform Building Code, and that you had been given an additional thirty days to
call for the required inspection or to request other action from the building department.
The above permit has expired and been closed. The work authorized by the permit has
not been inspected or approved. It is a violation of Colorado Revised Statutes 30-28-205
& 210, Uniform Building Code section 109, to use or occupy the building or area unless
final inspections have been completed and a Certificate of Occupancy has been issued.
Records of this failure to comply are included with property records at the Garfield
County Clerk and Recorders office. You are entitled to protest this action to the Garfield
County Board of Commissioners
