The following items are required by Garfield County for a final inspection:
1. A final Electrical Inspection from the Colorado State Electrical inspector_

Permanent address assigned by the Garfield County Building Department posted where
readily visible from access road.
3 A finished roof, a lockable house, complete exterior siding, exterior doors and windows
installed, a complete kitchen with cabinets, a sink with hot & cold running water, kitchen
floor coverings, counter tops and finished walls, ready for stove and refrigerator, all necessary
plumbing.
4_ A complete bathroom, with wash bowl, tub or shower, toilet stool, hot & cold running, water,
floors and walls finished an a privacy door.
5. All steps outside or inside over three (3) steps must have handrails, guardrails on balconies
or decks over 30" high constructed to all 1994 UBC requirements.
6. Outside grading done to where water will detour away from the building.
7_ Exceptions to the outside steps, decks and grading may be made upon the demonstration of
extenuating circumstances, ie., weather, but a Certificate of Occupancy will not be issued
until all the required items are completed and a final inspection made.
A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNITE. ALL THE ABOVE
ITEMS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

Notes on water & electricaI damage to home of Warren & Joyce Kinzel - 50 Alder Court,
Battlement Mesa, CO, due to lightning strike on evaporative cooler on or about Wednesday, July
22, 1998. This list is most likely not all-inclusive, as additional items by be discovered upon
further investigation.
Electrician:
Check entire electrical system, including floor outlets and all light fixtures and ceiling fans
Replace any charred Romex wiring and Select -A -Stat for evaporative cooler
Plumber:
Check entire heating and domestic water systems for leaks
Check boiler and water heater for damage
Replace evaporative cooler and interior cooler grill
Replace rusted baseboard heater covers in downstairs Rec Room & bedroom
Framing Carpenter:
Sand all swelled seams of sub -floor
Check all walls for bowed studs once drywall has been removed
Check for bowed headers above windows in downstairs bedroom & Rec Room
Insulator:
Replace all blown -in insulation that fell out of ceiling
Check all insulation for wetness in ceiling and exterior walls
Insulate wall between Rec Room and downstairs bedroom
brywaller:
Check walls & ceiling in m_ bedroom, once rock is removed on living room side
Repair cracks along patio slider frame in m. bedroom
Replace ceiling in living room up to partial wall at kitchen
Replace walls from r_ side of entry door to 45° wall by pantry
Replace wall from m_ bedroom door to exterior wall past fireplace
Repair end of 1/2 -wall at top of stair
Replace left wall of stairwell and damaged ceiling above
Replace all walls and ceiling in Rec Room
Replace all walls and ceiling in downstairs bedroom
Replace walls and ceiling in downstairs walk -in -closet
Replace walls and ceiling in finished hall leading to downstairs Ys -Bath

Check bottom edge of drywall in shop once it has dried out

Replace door and casing into hall leading to downstairs 'A -Bath
Remove & replace stair parts for drywaller, repair bottom MDF board and shoe
Check door into downstairs bath once it has dried out
Carpet Layer;
Replace carpet and pad in master bedroom, master bath, and walk -in -closet
Replace carpet and pad in living room
Replace carpet and pad in stairwell
Replace carpet and pad in downstairs bedroom and closet
Dry out and restretch carpet in office
Painter:
Paint alI walls and ceilings where drywall is replaced or repaired
