Outside grading done to where water will detour away from the building; 7. Exceptions to the outside steps, decks and grading may be made upon the demonstration of extenuating circumstances, i.e. weather, but a Certificate of Occupancy will not be issued until all the required items are completed and a final inspection made. (� S. - RE: Building constructed without required Building Permit on Parcel identified as 2181-122- 00-243. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Partain; As a result of site review, it appears that a building has been constructed on your property without a required Building Permit. Construction, use and occupancy of any structure prior to receiving a Building Permit, and passing of all necessary inspections, is illegal, and in violation of Sections 301(a), and 305 (d) of the Uniform Building Code, 1994 Edition. By this letter, you are being notified that any occupahcy of the structure is a violation of the code and must be discontinued until all inspections required prior to occupancy are completed. In this case where a structure has already been constructed without the required building permit, you are required to do the following to resolve this issue; 1. APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE A BUILDING PERMIT. Building codes adopted by Garfield County require that a permit application on a form provided by Garfield County be filed with this department. Every application shall: (restated, whole or in part, from Chapter 3 of the 1988 Uniform Building Code)(1.) Identify and describe the work to be covered by the permit for which application is made. (2.) Describe the land on which the proposed work is to be done by legal description, street address or similar description that will readily identify and definitely locate the proposed building or work. (3.) Indicate the use or occupancy for which the proposed work is intended. (4.) Be accompanied by plans, diagrams, computations and specifications and other data as required in Subsection (b) of this section. (b) Plans and Specifications. Plans, engineering calculations, diagrams and other data shall be submitted in one or more sets with each application for a permit. The building official may require plans, computations and specifications to be prepared and designed by and engineer or architect licensed by the state to practice as such. Submittal shall include construction inspection requirements as defined in Section 302(c). (5.) State the valuation of any new building or structure or any addition, remodeling or alteration to an existing building. (6.) Be signed by the permittee, or his authorized agent. (7.)
