HomeMy WebLinkAbout5.0 Water Supply & Waste Water Management and Trash PlanWater Supply and Distribution Plan
We are requesting a waiver from the requirements for a typical water supply plan. Drinking
water will be supplied by Deep Rock Water Company which is distributed in the Roaring Fork
Valley. We will make use of their water coolers that hold 5 gallon water jugs for drinking water.
This water supply will only be used for events with less than 50 people and for events with more
than 50 the event coordinator will be responsible for bringing in and supplying their own bottled
water for the event. This requirement for bringing in drinking water is stated in the venue lease
agreement. Water demand will vary depending on the size of event and we will order water
accordingly on an event by event basis (see attach: Deep rock Water Contract).
Waste Water Management and System Plan
We request a waiver request to allow for use of portable temporary water for special events.
Most of our events will have an average of 135 people for bigger events and smaller events from
20-50 people. We anticipate an average of two events a months over a year and majority of
events to take place between May and November approximately 30 events. Because of the
seasonal sporadic nature of the projected use, the logical/smart choice is to have water sanitation
and waste water removal be temporary in structure and managed by an outside company with
Waste Management or Lavish Loo, a portable bathroom company. Every event which has 30
people and above will be required to rent porta potties or portable bathrooms and hand washing
station for their event. It is our intent to just be a venue and that all rentals are the responsible
from outside services so we can focus our energy on ensuring the health and maintenance of the
property for sustainable use. Now that Colorado has allowed for harvesting rain water we hope to
create a portable composting toilet outhouse that can collect rain water from the roof for non-
potable water for hand washing needs. This we feel is a important to conserve water and to use
as an educational component for the farm and our guests. We do have a bathroom in the barn
which is only for use for small events of 15 people or less and will not be used during big events.
The portable composting toilet outhouse concept we aim to start working on come fall 2017
spring 2018 and would only be a secondary wash station to a rented wash and toilet station.
Water for sanitation will be supplied by water sink stations which will be dropped off and picked
up the same time as the portable bathroom facilities. Please see attached estimate from Lavish
Loos for a portable restroom facilities including toilet and sink for events. This estimate is for a 1
day event that can service up to 200 people. This is an example of an outside vendor service that
the event representative would be required to contract with for hand washing stations and
portable restrooms.
Trash Storage Removal Plan
Trash will be divided into recycling and waste and will utilize two 4 yard bear resistant
dumpsters. Trash will be removed weekly by Waste Management. (see attached Waste
Management Service Agreement)
