Architect and owner of the above referenced project to review a few select framing issues which were discovered during a recent site inspection. The following items have been reviewed: 1) The sloped wood frame walls have been balloon framed along grid lines 6,7, & 8. The specified rimboards at the top of these walls have been eliminated. The walls are non-bearing shear walls and do not support roof load. The roof load is supported by TJI joists which are parallel to the balloon frame walls. Therefore this condition has been deemed to be acceptable. A similar condition exists along grid Iines 1 & 2. See Sht S.2 Roof Framing. 2) The stair landing framing shown on S.3 between grid line 1 & 2 has been revised to 2 x 8's DF ## 2 @ 16 inch o.c. 3) Holes for electrical wires were cut through the roof joists along Grid Line 2. These holes and locations have been reviewed and deemed to not adversely affect the structural integrity of the roof joists. Should you have any further questions, please call or write.
