CONDITIONS:
1. All installation must comply with all requirements of the Colorado State Board of Health Individual Sewage
Disposal Systems Chapter 25, Article 10 C.R.S. 1973, Revised 1984.
2. This permit is valid only for connection to structures which have fully complied with County zoning and
building requirements. Connection to or use with any dwelling or structures not approved by the Building and
Zoning office shall automatically be a violation or a requirement of the permit and cause for both legal action
and revocation of the permit.
3. Any person who constructs, alters, or installs an individual sewage disposal system in a manner which
involves a knowing and material variation from the terms or specifications contained in the application of
permit commits a Class 1, Petty Offense ($500.00 fine - 6 months in jail or both).

IN -DRAIN SYSTEM DISPERSAL/ABSORPTION/TREATMENT BED
TESTING, INSPECTIONS AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
1. ADDITIONAL INSPECTIONS AND RECOMMENDATION WILL BE MADE BY THE
ENGINEER DURING CONSTRUCTION TO APPROVE THE LAYOUT OF THE
MOUNDED SAND FILTER BED SYSTEM, VERIFY INSTALLATION OF SPECIFIED
MATERIALS AND OWS COMPONENTS.
2. PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE PERMITTED SYSTEM THE ENGINEER
SHOULD BE CONTACTED BY THE PROJECT MANAGER/CONTRACTOR WELL IN
ADVANCE TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE TIME TO DISCUSS THE SYSTEM
COMPONENTS WITH THE CONTRACTOR, ANSWER QUESTIONS, RESOLVE ANY
CONFLICT ISSUES AND SCHEDULE INSPECTION SITE VISITS BASED ON
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS. A PRE-OWS CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH THE
ENGINEER, THE CONTRACTOR, ELECTRICIAN AND THE QUALIFIED INSTALLER
IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF THE OWS COMPONENTS.
3. REGULATIONS REQUIRE THAT THE DESIGN ENGINEER OF RECORD PERFORM
SITE INSPECTIONS OF THE PERMITTED SYSTEM DURING CONSTRUCTION AND
PROVIDE "AS -BUILT" DOCUMENTATION OF THE INSTALLED SYSTEM TO THE
THE COUNTY AFTER CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE. WE RECOMMEND THAT
INSTALLED OWS COMPONENTS BE SURVEYED TO OBTAIN REQUIRED
AS -BUILT INFORMATION.
4. CONTRACTOR SHOULD DISCUSS ISSUES REGARDING SPECIFICATIONS,
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF OWS MECHANICAL SYSTEMS AND
CONTROLS WITH THE SUPPLIER/INSTALLER AND/OR THE ENGINEER.
5. OUR DESIGN AND RECOMMENDATIONS ARE BASED UPON OUR EVALUATION
OF THE EXISTING AND PROPOSED SITE CONDITIONS AND INFORMATION
SUPPLIED TO US BY OTHERS. IF SITE CONDITIONS ARE FOUND TO BE
DIFFERENT FROM CONDITIONS ASSUMED OR INDICATED, WE SHOULD BE
NOTIFIED TO EVALUATE ANY EFFECT ON THE PROPOSED OWS.

Max. Design flow (Qct) = # of people x (avg. flow) x 1.5 gal/person/day.
Gallons per day per person for staff employees = 15 gall/person/day
Gallons per day per person for Transient Visitors = 5 garl/person/day
Qd=Staff Employees: 5 persons 0 15 gpd = 75x1.5 = 1.12.5 gpd

Septic Tank Design
V = 870 gal/day * 1.25 days = 1087 gallons.
Use a 1500 gallon, three compartment septic tank with dosing basin.
Percolation testing will performed by Hepworth Pawlok Geotechnical, Inc. in the
location of the proposed treatment absorption field to verify design assumptions. The
average percolation rate is estimated to be between 20-30 minutes per inch. A rate
of 30 minutes per inch is used for design.

1. ALL MATERIALS AND INSTALLATION SHALL CONFORM TO STATE AND
COUTNY INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM (15DS) REGULATIONS.
2. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO CONTACT ALL
UTILITY COMPANIES FOR FIELD LOCATIONS OF UTILITIES PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION AND EXCAVATION.
3. ALL SEWER LINES TO BE SDR -35 BEDDED IN CLASS 6, SDR -26 BEDDED IN
SCREENED NATIVE OR SCHEDULE 40 P.V.C. PIPE BEDDED IN SCREENED NATIVE
MATERIAL UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
4. INSTALL A TWO-WAY CLEAN OUT ON THE SERVICE LINE FROM THE HOUSE.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE ALL SEWER LINES AND SEPTIC TANKS ARE
WATERTIGHT. ANY POTENTIAL PLUMBING LEAKS SHALL BE REPAIRED TO AVOID
EXCESSIVE WATER ENTERING THE SEPTIC SYSTEM.
6. THE SEPTIC TANK SHALL BE INSTALLED LEVEL ON COMPACTED EARTH. INSTALL
WATERTIGHT RISERS AS NECESSARY TO BRING ALL REQUIRED ACCESS
POINTS TO THE FINISHED SURFACE GRADE.
7. A SANITARY BAFFLE TEE IS REQUIRED ON THE SEPTIC TANK INLET AND OUTLET.
INSTALL THE INLET AND OUTLET TEES PLUMB AND IN A POSITION TO ALLOW EASY
INSPECTION AND MAINTAINANCE OF TANK FROM THE TANK RISERS.
8. WE RECOMMEND THE INSTALLATION OF A 4" EFFLUENT FILTER CONTAINED IN THE
4" BAFFLE OUTLET TEE OF THE SEPTIC TANK. THE FILTER SHOULD BE INSPECTED
EVERY SIX MONTHS. THE EFFLUENT FILTER SHALL BE MAINTAINED AND CLEANED
WHEN THE TANK IS PERIODICALLY PUMPED OR AS NECCESSARY. INSTALL A
SUITABLE EXTENSION ON THE FILTER WITH A HANDLE TO BE WITHIN 6" BELOW THE
ACCESS LID.
9. THE TREATMENT BED MUST BE MARKED AND PROTECTED TO PREVENT DAMAGE
FROM VEHICULAR AND LIVESTOCK TRAFFIC.
10. THE ENTIRE TREATMENT BED SURFACE MUST BE SODDED OR RE -VEGETATED WITH
GROUND COVER.
11. THE TREATMENT BED SURFACE MUST BE CROWNED TO DIVERT SURFACE DRAINAGE
AWAY FROM THE BED.
12. THE DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON THE PLAN INDICATE MINIMUM AREA AND SEPARATION
DISTANCES FOR THE OWS COMPONENTS.
13. THE BED SHALL BE LEVEL WITH DISTRIBUTION PIPES INSTALLED FOR
EQUAL PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION.
14. THE BED SHALL BE OVER EXCAVATED TO ALLOW PLACEMENT OF A MINIMUM OF
THE SAND TREATMENT LAYER. THE BOTTOM SURFACE AND SIDEWALLS OF THE
TRENCH TO BE SCARIFIED AND RAKED AS NECCESSARY PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF
THE SCREENED ROCK.
15. THE TREATMENT BED SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED WITH THE IN -DRAINS UNITS PLACED
WITH A MINIMUM OF 24" OF CONCRETE SAND BELOW AND ALONG THE SIDES OF
THE UNITS. THE IN -DRAINS, SAND AND DISTRIBUTION PIPES SHALL BE PLACED
IN A FILTER FABRIC ENVELOPE OVERLYING THE SCREENED ROCK LAYER.
16. THE MINIMUM COVER OVER THE TOP OF THE IN -DRAIN UNITS SHALL BE 10 INCHES
NOT TO EXCEED 24". THE TRENCH BOTTOM SURFACE AND SIDEWALLS SHALL BE
SCARIFIED AND RACKED IF SMEARING OCCURS.
17. THE PERFORATED DISTRIBUTION PIPE, SAND AND THE 1N -DRAIN UNITS SHALL BE
ENVELOPED WITH FILTER FABRIC. TO THE BOTTOM OF THE
BED. THE TRENCH 1N -DRAIN UNITS WILL BE BACKFILLED TO THE SURFACE WITH
EXCAVATED MATERIAL VOID OF ROCKS. THE BACKFILL MATERIAL SHALL NOT EXCEED
3" DIAMETER. A MINIMUM 4" DEPTH OF TOPSOIL 1S TO BE PLACED ABOVE THE
BACKFILL TO THE FINISH SURFACE GRADE.
18. BALL VALVES (SIZE PER PLAN) SHALL BE INSTALLED ON THE TERMINAL ENDS OF
THE PERFORATED DISTRIBUTION PIPE AND HOUSED IN A VALVE BOX.
19. ALL INSTALLATION OF IN -DRAIN UNITS SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE
MANUFACTURES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
THE ABSORPTION FIELD SHALL BE INSTALLED PER THE REQUIRED SETBACK
DISTANCES:
10 feet from any property line.
25 feet from any potable water supply line.
20 feet from any occupied dwelling.
100 feet from any well, spring or cistern.
25 feet from drainage swats or ditches
50 feat from any stream or water course.
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM NOTES:
1. EFFLUENT FROM THE SEPTIC TANK WILL DISCHARGE TO THE TANK'S DOSING
BASIN WITH A DUPLEX SEWAGE PUMP ASSEMBLY. EFFLUENT WILL BE EQUALLY
DISTRIBUTED TO EACH TREATMENT BED VIA THE SPECIFIED INDIVIDUAL
TRANSPORT LINE TO THE SPECIFIED PRESURRE MANIFOLD AT THE HEAD OF THE
BED. (SEE PLAN CALLOUTS NOTES)
2. THE SPECIFIED CUSTUM PERFORATED PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION LATERALS WILL
BE INSTALLED OVER THE TOP CENTER TO THE IN -DRAIN UNITS WITH ORIFFICE
SHIELD AT EACH ORIFFICE. THE DISTRIBUTION PIPES WILL HAVE 3/16" ORIFFICES
DRILLED AS SPECIFIED AT EQUAL INCREMENTS ALONG THE PIPE. (SEE PLAN
CALLOUTS)
3. THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM SHALL DISTRIBUTE FLOW EVENLY TO EACH IN -DRAIN
ROW IN THE BED. THE MINIMUM SLOPE OF THE DISCHARGE LINE FROM THE
DOSING TANK TO THE PRESSURE MANIFOLD SHALL SHALL BE INSTALLED AT A
MINIMUM 2% SLOPE TO ALLOW FOR DRAIN BACK, ALL DISTRIBUTION PIPING,
CONNECTIONS AND FITTINGS SHALL BE WATERTIGHT AND INSTALLED TO INSURE
EQUAL DISTRIBUTIONTHROUGH THE SYSTEM.
