This ISDS design is proposed to serve a single family residence with up
to 4 bedrooms.
Wastewater demands are based on a residence with up to 4 bedrooms
serving up to 1.5 occupants per bedroom for a maximum occupancy of 6.
Assuming an average daily residential sewage demand of 70 gpd per
resident.
The calculated Average Daily Waste Flows are as follows:
Residence Average Daily Waste Flow: 6 occupants x 70 gpd/occupant
= 420 gpd
Total Design Average Daily Waste Flow = 1.50 x Total Average Daily
Waste Flow: 1.5 x 420 gpd = 630 gpd
Minimum recommended concrete septic tank size Residence = 1250
gallons
Percolation testing was performed by Colorado River Engineering Inc. as
follows:
Percolation Rate 1: 51 min/inch
Percolation Rate 2: 33 min/inch
Percolation Rate 3: 29 min/inch
Use Worst case (conservative planning) = 51 min/inch
The required absorption area (A) for a normal gravel type leach area is
calculated using the following formula:
A = Design flow x -"Ave. Percolation Rate

A = 831 sf
Garfield County allows a maximum reduction of 50% of the required
leaching area for a graveless type design in a Trench configuration. This
is a Trench configuration,
Therefore the required Area = 831 sf x 0.5 = 415 sf
Required number of Infiltrator Units = 4151 15.5 = 27 units
Required number of Infiltrator Quick4 Units = 27 x 1.5625 = 41.8 units
The Trench configuration shall be 4 Trenches, each being 12 units long
for a total of 48 units (12% factor of safety).
Minimum Horizontal Setbacks:
Setback from Wells: 100 ft
Setback from Creek: 50 ft
The above designed ISDS shall be installed satisfying all minimum
setbacks and design stanuards as aescribed by Garfield County ISDS
regulations and according to all manufacturers specifications and
recommendations.
The contractor shall notify the engineer of construction time schedule and
will be required to have engineer inspect prior to burying underground
improvements.
All structures are served by private water well.
NOTE:
The Septic Tank shall be inspected on an annual basis to monitor the solids
loading within the tank.

The installation of plumbing shall also be subject to the corresponding building
codes.
