In addition to regulations contained elsewhere in this
Resolution, the use of land and buildings shall be
governed by the following regulations:
SUPPLEMENTARY USE REGULATIONS
Utility Facilities: Nothing in these regulations shall
be construed to prohibit construction or installation of
a public utility use or structure necessary for
transmission of co1nmodities or services of a utility
company from a main or distribution line to a private
consumer. Mains or distribution lines shall be special
uses in any zone district. Storage, maintenance and
business off ices shall be restricted to their appropriate
zone district and regulated in accordance with such
non-utility uses. (A. 81-145) ·
Minimum Off-Street Parking: Parking spaces shall be
provided for each use in the following amow1ts:
(1) Residential (except group quarters) -1 space per 600
square feet of floor area or 1 space per dwelling llllit,
whichever is greater; each separately rentable room or
group of rooms shall be considered a dwelling llllit;
(Z) Residential -group quarters -1 space per bed;
( 3) Retail and service commercial -1 space per ZOO
square feet of floor area (except storage area);
(4) AuditoriU111 and public assembly -1 space per 100
square feet of floor area used for seating or assembly;
(5) Public and health facilities (except auditorium and
public assembly) -1 space per ZOO square feet of floor
area (except storage area);
( 6) Ski fad li ties -1 space per 4 persons of hourly
base lift capacity;
(7) Where a lot is occupied by a combination of the
·above listed uses, the minimU111 off-street parking
requirement shall equal the sum of the requirement for
all included uses on the lot.

Sec. 705. In Group B Occupancy buildings, all enclosed portions oustomarily
occupied by human beings~ or.her than rooms and areas for which requirements are
specified elsewhere in this section, shall be provided with natural light by means
of exterior glazed openings with an area equal to one tenth of tbe toral floor area of
st1ch portions:, and natura.i ventilation by means of exterior openings with an
openable area not less than one ~ntieth of rhe total floor area of such portions, or
shall be provided with artificial light and a mechanically operated ventilating
S)'stem. The mechanically operated ventilation system shall be capable of supply-
ing a minimum of 5 cubic fee~ per minute of outside air per occupant with a total
circulated of not less than 15 cubic feet per minute per occupant in all occupied
portions of the building.
In all buildings or portions thereofwbere CI= I, II or ill-A liquids are used,
exhaust ventilation shall be provided sufficient to produce six air changes per :l
hour. Sud. exhaust ventilation shall be taken from a point at or near the floor level.
In all parking garages, other than open parking garages as defined in Section
i09 (b ), used for storing or handling of automobiles operating under their own
power and on all loading platforms in bus terminals. ventilation shall be provided
capable of exhausting a minimum of 1.5 cfm per square foot of gross floor area.
The building official may approve an alternate ventilation system designed to
exhaust a minimwn of 14, 000 cfrn for each operating vehicle. Such system shall
be based upon the anticipated insWJ.tane:ow mo-vemenE rate of vehicles but not
Jess than 2.5 percent (or one vehicle) of the garage capacity. Automatic CO
sensing devices may be employed to modulllte the ventilation system to maintain a
maximum average concentration of CO of 50 ppm during any eight-hour period.

Product-conveying Ducts
Sec. 1107. (a) ClassirJCalloo. Product-conveying dacts shall be classified
according to their use, as follows:
Class 1. Ducts cooveying nonabrasives, such as rnloke, spray, mists, fogs,
noncorrosive fumes and gases, light fioe duslS or powden.
-Class 2. Ducts conveying moderately abrasive particulate in light conccntra-
tiOJIS, such as sawdust aod grain du.st, buffiog aod polishing dust.
Class 3. Ducts cooveying Class 2 materials in high concentrations and highly
abrasive materials in low conccntrations, SllCh as manganese, steel chips 2Dd coke.

the duct conveys flammable vapors or fumes. Sprinklers shall be installed at 12-
foot intemils in horirontal docts and al changes in direction. In vertical runs,
sprinklers shall be installed at the top and al alternate floor levels.
(h) Clearances. Ducts conveying flammable or explooive vapon, fumes or
dnsts shall have a clearance from oombustibles of not less than 1 S)nches. This cremnce may be reihicid when the COinbiiSb"ble oanstructiOn'iS piokCted in
accordance with Table No. 5-B.
Ducts conveying products at nomperanires exceeding 125'F. shall have a clear-
ance to combustible materials not less thau the following: 125 'F. to 250'F--I
inch; 251 'F. to 600"1'-S inches. For temperanucs exceeding 600"R, the clear-
ance shall be not less than required far chimneys in Table No. 9-C.
(i) Protection from Physical Damage. Duel! installed in locations where they
are subject to physical damage shall be P!l'~~by suitable guards.
(J) Exhaust OnOets. Outicts for exbansts that exceed 600'F. shall be in
accordance with Table No. 9-C.
