3. Board Action on Appeal: Upon receipt of a Notice of
Appeal, the Secretary, at the call of the Chairman, shall
schedule said appeal for hearing within thirty ( 30) days,
or if the Board has adopted a regular schedule of
meetings, not later than the third meeting following
receipt of the Notice. The Secretary shall thereupon
mail written notice of the date, time and place of the
hearing to the Building Official and to the Applicant.
4. Hearings: Hearings shall be public and shall be
conducted as nearly as possible in conformity with C.R.S.
1973, 24-4-105, as amended. The Board shall adopt
reasonable rules and regulations for the conduct of
hearings and thereafter such rules and regulations shall
govern the conduct of such hearings.
E. Liability. Any member or members of the Board, as provided
for herein, acting in good faith for Garfield County and
without malice in the discharge of their duties as provided
for herein, shall not thereby render themselves liable
personally, and they are hereby relieved from all personal
liability for any damage that may accrue to persons or
property as a result of any act required by, or by reason of
any act required by, or by reason of any act or omission
related to the discharge of their duties. Any suit brought
against a member or members of the Board for acts performed by
them in the discharge of their duties, shall be defended by

Amendment to Section 304 (bl 1. By deletion of present language and
adding the following to paragraph:
Building permit valuation flhall be based upon a cost per square
foot of the building, based on the most current average valuation
on the Building Valuation Data chart·; as.it is ptiblishedfrom time
to time in the International Conference of Building Officials,
Building Standards magazine.

to pay $100 for the inspection fee for placement

1. In addition to any other fee herein provided for a building to
be used for residential purposes prior to the issuance of any
building permit, there shall be paid to Garfield County a fee to be
determined by the Board of County Commissioners of Garfield County,
which fee shall be collected and credited to the account created

Building Valuation Data
At !he request of nurnerous building officials, Building Standards offers the following building valualion data represen!ing average costs for most buildings.
Because residential buildings are the most conlmon for many cities, two general classes are considered for these, one for "average" construction and the olher
for "good." Adjustments should be made for special architectural or structural features and the localion of the project. Higher or lower unit costs may often
result.
The unit costs are intended to comply with the definition of ''valuation" in Section 423 of the UnifOrm Building Caden~ and thus include architectural, sfruc-
lural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical work, except as specifically listed below. The unil costs also include the conlrilctor's profit, which should not be
omitted.
