2.01 YIATERIALS
A. Concrete: Use concrete having a compressive strength 'f'c' of 2500 psi or
greater.
Reinforcing Steel: Use reinforcing steel having a yield strength 'fy' of 60,000
psi or greater.
PART 3 - EXECJTION
3.01 •ISPECTION
A. Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and architectural prior to pouring
concrete. Provide sleeves, block outs, etc. as required.
0. Verify that adverse soil conditions do not exist prior to pouring foundation
concrete. Inform Engineer of any adverse soil conditions.
3.02 INSTALLATION
Contractor is responsible for proper placement of all embedded anchor
bolts, angles, plates, etc.
Bear all concrete footings at or below frost depth.
6. Bear footings on undisturbed natural material, or on fill that is wetted to 95%
optimum moisture content and compacted in 8" (maximum) loose lifts to 95%
maximum dry density.
D. Wall verts may be wet -stabbed into strip footings.
3.03 PROTECTION
A. Cold Weather Protection.
1. Provide cold weather protection whenever the temperature is
forecast to fall below 40°F within 14 days of concrete placement.
2. Protect concrete against freezing until it has cured for no less than
five days.
3. Do not place concrete in contact with frozen surfaces.
