Dear Mr. Jarman:
WPX Energy Rocky Mountain, LLC ("WPX") is planning to commence drilling on the above referenced well pad
located upon Chevron U.S.A. Inc. ("Chevron") surface and mineral lands in Section 21, T55-R97W, Garfield
County, Colorado. All such operations are being conducted pursuant to that certain oil, gas and mineral lease
dated June 3, 2004, between Chevron Shale Oil Company, as Lessor, and Barrett Resources Corporation, as
Lessee ("Lease") and that certain Surface Damage Agreement for the above referenced well pad dated August
1, 2010, between Chevron and WPX.
Please accept this letter as authorization from Chevron that WPX may apply for and process Small Temporary
Employee Housing (STEH) and Individual Sewage Disposal System (ISDS) permits on the above referenced
drilling pad location.
