PROJECT DESCRIPTION Temporary 69KV Transmission Line• Electric Public Service Company of Colorado A corridor located in portions of Sections 27, 28, 34 and 35, T7S, R88W of the 6th P.M., more practically described as a corridor located on the north side of Carbondale. It is proposed to located a temporary 69,000 volt electric transmission line in a corridor north of the Carbondale city limits. (See map, page /6 ). The purpose of the line is to ensure continued electrical service to the Carbondale area and the Mid -Continent and Snowmass coal mines. (See letter, pages/_/z. ) II. MAJOR ISSUES AND CONCERNS Colorado Revised Statute 30-28-110 (1)(a) -(e) requires the Planning Commission to approve any road, park or public way, ground or space, public building or structure or public utility prior to construction. If for some reason the Planning Commission were to deny an application, the decision could be overruled by the Board of County Commisioners. If the Board of County Commissioners were to uphold the denial, the Board of any public entity whose authorization or financing does not fall within the province of the Board of County Commissioners may overrule the County decision. III. RECOMMENDATION APPROVAL, based on the assumption that the line will be removed after construction is completed in 6-9 months. /')/q),,e08E6' *//‘
