The findings of our observations and recommendations for the foundalion design are presented in this report. The services are supplemental to our agreement for profèssional services to yott dated January 10, 24t7. We previously conducted a subsoil study for design of foundations at lhe site and presented our Iindings in a report dated January 18, 2017, Project No. 17-7-l16. The proposed constn¡ction is similar to tlrat discussed in our previons report. The building has been designed to be supported on spread footings sized using an allorvable soil bearing pressure of 2,tû0 psf, as recommended. At the tinte of our site visit, the foundation excavation rvhich rvas complete had been cul in one level from about I Y: lo 3V= feet belorv the adjacent ground surface. The soils exposed in the bottom of the excavation consisted of silty to slightly silty sandy gravel and cobbles rvith srnall boulders. There tvere a ferv minor pockets of silty sand exposed at subgrade rvithin the gravel a¡rd cobble deposits, The footings had been constructed and the foundation rvalls rvere being formed. No free rvater lvas encountered in tlte excavation and tlte soils rvere slightly moisl. The soil conditions exposed in lhe excavation are consistent rvith those previously encountered on the site and suitable for support of spread footings designed for the recommended allorvable bearing pressure of 2,û00 psL Loose and disturbed soils should be removed in the footing åreas to expose the undisturbed natural granular soils. Other reconlmendations presented in our prsvious report which are applicable should also be observed. Dave Carlson March 15,2017 Page 2 'fhe recommendations submitted in this letter are based on our observation of the soils exposed withill the foundation excavation and tlre previous subsurface exploralion at the sile. Variations in the subsnrface conditions belorv the excavation could increase the risk of foundation rnovement. We should be advised of any variations encounlercd in the excavation conditions for possible changes to recommendations contained in lhis letter.
