Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
110 Oak Lane
Garfield County, Colorado
Permit Number SEPT-06-18-5309
Ernesto,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OW TS)
on September 27 and October 25, 2018 for the subject property. Cuc Construction installed the system.
The existing septic tank was pumped and filled with road base. The existing soil treatment area (STA)
was abandoned in place.
New 4-inch diameter SDR-35 sewer pipes were installed from the foundation to the new septic tank. The
system installation included a 2000-gallon, two-compartment Valley Precast concrete septic tank,
followed by a 500-gallon, single-compartment concrete tank with an Orenco® ProPak pumping system
and PF5005 pump. The filter in the pump tank must be cleaned annually, or as needed. The floats
were set to dose approximately 90 gallons each pump cycle. The control panel is located on the north
side of the residence, under the deck, within line of sight of the septic tank. Valley Precast out of Buena
Vista performed start-up on the pumping system.
A 1.5-inch diameter Schedule 40 pump line was installed from the pump to an Orenco® automatic
distributing valve (ADV), model 6402. The ADV was placed a high point in the system and placed in what
appeared to be a modified water tank. The ADV could have been installed at a higher elevation, but there
was a miscommunication and the installer thought the grade could not be more than 1% for drain back. The
way the ADV was installed with 1% drain back will work, although access is less ideal because of burial
depth.
Effluent was pressure dosed through 1.5-inch diameter pipes to two beds, each with 3 rows of 15 ‘Quick
4’ Standard Plus Infiltrator® chambers, for a total of 90 chambers and 1080 square feet of infiltrative
area. There was at least 6-feet of undisturbed soil between each bed.
Effluent was pressure dosed to a 1.5-inch diameter level manifolds. Laterals (also 1.5-inch diameter),
were hung with zip ties from the underside of the chambers. Laterals have 5/32-inch diameter orifices
facing up, with the exception of the first and last holes facing down for drainage. The orifices were drilled
3-feet on center. Each lateral ends in a 90 degree ell facing up with a ball valve for flushing. Valves
were placed in a valve box, accessible from grade, for access. Inspection ports were placed in each
corner of each bed. Ports were cut to grade and covered with a valve box for access.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,
