Noxious weeds identified a. Canada thistle b. Plumless thistle c. Russian olive Mapped problem areas. 2. ERADICATION AND CONTAINMENT a. Thistle 1. Began weed spraying schedule with Valley Vegetation Management for containment and eradication of thistle. 2. Mowing affected areas every two weeks. 3. Increase irrigation in affected areas to promote stronger native grass growth. 4. Stopped flood irrigation and only irrigate with sprinklers to cut down on spread of noxious weed seed through ditch systern. 5. Monitoring property for new infestation. b. Russian olive. 1. Cut down and removed 3. REVEGETATION PLAN FOR CONSTRUCTION a. Allow as little disturbance of existing native vegetation as possible. b. Retain and reuse any topsoil. c. Reseed with weed free native Colorado grasses immediately after construction of OWTS. d. Reseed with weed free native Colorado grasses and wildflowers within 20 day of completion of building of residential unit. e. Mulch with weed free straw. f. Irrigation daily or as need to promote seed growth. g. Continued irrigation as need to encourage full coverage of native vegetation. h. Monitor and eradicate noxious weeds in revegetated areas. 4. LONG TERM PLAN FOR LAND STEWARDSHIP a. Monitor property for noxious weeds with the help of noxious weed resources furnished by Mr. Ives b. Contain and eradicate noxious weeds found through 1. Promoting native grass health 2. Keeping areas mowed to prevent further seed production. 3. Maintaining a spraying schedule. 4. Maintain a healthy irrigation schedule. 5. Restrict contamination from outside sources. 6. Revegetate disturbed soil quickly.
