Tyler:
After reviewing your most recent email including the revised letter and changes to specifications/general notes
addressing the compacted structural fill below foundations, the Building Dept. will accept this information.
ln our local area, we typically see details from the Structural Engineer which graphically interpret & depict the Geotech
Engineer's requirements. ln this case, we believe that your revised specifications cover things well enough that we can
perform our concrete inspections.
Thanks for your assistance in this matter.

Hi Dave Argo,
I wanted to coordinate with you specifically on your comments below prior to sending out stamped documents.
The Building Dept. needs to clearly understand whether or not the Structural Engineer of Record (Tamarack) is requiring
compliance with the Geotech Engin, eer's latest recommendations for 3-feet of compacted fill below all footings, and
your letter(s) do not make this clear.
I have attached a preliminary letter with corrections expressing complíance. Can you please verify that this revised letter
is acceptable?
ln addition, if structural compacted fill is required, we need to receive a structural detail from your office describing
what this looks like (minimum depth, width, and any other design parameters) so that our Building lnspectors know
what to review when they go out in the field to perform footing inspections.
1
As for the detail you are requesting. This is typically not done by a structural engineer, rather general structural notes
are provided in section 2, Notes.'4, and l. These generalstructural notes are also in compliance with the Geotechnical
report.
Also, there were (2) full-size drawing sheets also included in the recent amendments, but we don't know what
information has been changed on Sheet S0. lf there are changes, revisions or additions to this sheet, can you please
cloud or otherwíse highlight them and send to me via email?
I have attached preliminary SO.0 sheet with cloud and delta revisions that were m.ade to show compliance with the
geotechnical report, and revised geotechnical alternative letter. Can you please verify that this revised letter is
acceptable?

David:
I have reviewed plans submitted to our office for a new single-family residence located at Oak Meadows - Filing 3, Block
L, Lot 3.
But before we can finalize our review & issue permits, we need the following outstanding items to be addressed:
A. Soils Report - Please provide us with a digital copy of the soils report prepared by Kumar Associates and
referenced on Sheet S0 in the plan set. There seems to be confusion as to allowable soil bearing capacity: 2,000
psfvs. 3000 psf?
B. Engineered Foundation - Any time foundation walls exceed eight feet in height, we require a site specific
foundation plan prepared by a Colorado licensed Professional Engineer. Please provide our office with (2) copies
of an Engineered foundation for this residence.
C. Engineered Retaining Walls- There are (2) vertical retaining walls exceeding 4 feet in height shown on either
side of the home, and another boulder retaining wall 10 feet in vertical height along the driveway. Since these
retaining walls exceed 4 feet in height they must be designed by a Colorado licensed P.E. - please provide details
for our review.
We appreciate your assistance in providing these items so that we can complete our plan review & issue permits.
