This letter responds to recent building department inspection comments.
1. Sheet S.2.04 Upper Roof Framing, Gridline 7; One trimmer and one king stud is
sufficient for the window header that was changed from a 9 ft opening to approximately 3
feet.
2. Sheet S.2.04 Upper Roof Framing, Gridline 7; The bathroom window was eliminated;
therefore, the header shown may also be eliminated.
3. Sheet S.2.03 Upper Floor/ Lower Roof, between Grids 4 & 5.2 and D & E: Please see
the attached repair detail (Sheet 1 of 5) for where the top joist flange was cut.
4. Sheet S.2.03 Upper Floor/ Lower Roof, near Grid E between 3 & 4 at skylights: Please
see the attach repair detail (Sheet 2 Of 5) for the 5/8" diameter holes that were drilled too
close to the joist bearing. In addition, the skylight framing was not shown on the
structural drawings and the as -built framing was not coordinated with the engineer.
Heading off joists for three rafter spaces results in a concentrated load that exceeds the
capacity of the joists that flank each side of the skylights. Please see the attached plan
revisions that correct the issue (Sheets 3-5 of 5).
