This sorl rs used mainly lor some irngated paslure anJ
hay and lor grazing. Small acreages of wheat, barley,
and oats afe grown.
Flooding and sprinklers are suitable fcr irrigating lhis
soil. This sorl is droughty and needs frequent irrigation to
mature crops- Controlling the rate ol water apphcation
reduces piping and erosion.
The natrve vegetation on lhis soil is mainly wheat-
grass, needleandlhread. and sagebrush.
When range condrtron detenorates, lorbs and shrubs
increase. When the ranoe is in poor condilion, undesira-
ble weeds and annual planls are numerous. Properly
managing grazing maintains and improves range condr-
lion. Seedrng improves range in poor cond(ion. Crested
whealgrass. weslern wheatgrass. and Russian wrldrye
are suitable lor seodrng. Prepanng a seedbed and dnilny-
